Geraldine "Gerry" D. DeWall - age 91, of Pocahontas, passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2021, at the Pocahontas Manor Care Center in Pocahontas, Iowa.

Geraldine Delores Herscher was born January 20, 1930, in Clinton Township near Rolfe, Iowa. She was the daughter of Harry and Clara (Stover) Herscher. She graduated from Havelock High School in 1947. On March 5, 1950, Gerry was united in marriage to Donald DeWall at the St. Peter Lutheran Church in Pocahontas. The couple settled on the DeWall family farm near Pocahontas where they farmed and raised their family. Gerry and Jan Pierce owned and operated the Powhatan Travel Agency in Pocahontas for many years. Don passed away in 2002 and Gerry continued to make her home on the farm.

Gerry was a member of the St. Peter Lutheran Church, Altar Guild and Women's Group. She volunteered at the Pocahontas Community Hospital and enjoyed traveling, golfing, sewing, quilting, reading and baking. Gerry especially enjoyed spending time with friends, family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Lonnie (Mark) Rosfjord of Pocahontas, Diane Pattee of Pocahontas, Beverly (David) Johnston of Pocahontas, Debra (Christopher) Edwards of Oxnard, CA, and Jeffrey DeWall of Pocahontas; 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Gerry was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; infant son, Michael and a brother, Darrell Herscher.
