Glen E. Otto, age 81, of Pocahontas, passed away on Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at the Pocahontas Community Hospital in Pocahontas, Iowa.

Glen Edward Otto was born July 28, 1939, in Storm Lake, Iowa to Woodrow "Jim" and Ruth "Ruby" (Woodin) Otto. Glen grew up near Ware and attended the Ware school until third grade when his family moved to the family farm 3 ¾ south of Plover. Glen graduated in 1957 from the Plover High School and farmed with his father. In 1961, Glen married Sharon (Sifert) at Plover. The couple moved to a farm outside of Pocahontas and four years later moved to a farm three miles south of Plover near his parent's farm. Glen took over the family farm when his parents retired. In 2010, Glen and Sharon retired and moved to Pocahontas.

Glen loved farming for 60 years and John Deere green was his favorite color. When he was younger, Glen enjoyed range shooting and motorcycle riding. He enlisted in the Air National Guard for six years. He loved his family and enjoyed driving around to watch his son and others farm. Even after he retired, Glen drove to the farm every day.

Glen is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sharon Otto; his children, Julie (Bill) Dvorak of Cape Coral, Florida and David (Kelly) Otto of Rolfe, Iowa; his grandchildren, Victoria Chinn, Catherine (Dan) Bailey, Stephanie Otto, Marie Dvorak, and Kyle Otto; his great grandchildren, Maurice Jones, Layla Testa, and Heidi Bailey, and his sister Eileen (Doug) Amos. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Ruby Otto; brothers-in-law, Richard Bauer, Jhon Sifert, Ted Sifert and David Sifert; and sister-in-law, Jean Sifert.
