Glenn D. Markley, age 87, of Rolfe, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at the Pocahontas Community Hospital in Pocahontas, Iowa.

Glenn DeWayne Markley was born on November 10, 1936, in Havelock, Iowa. He was the son of Harlan and Margueritte (Witt) Markley. He graduated from Rolfe High School in 1954 and attended Mankato Commercial College. Glenn enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he served from 1955 – 1959. On August 23, 1963, Glenn married Mary Ann Wold in Denver, Colorado. They lived in Denver for several years and then returned to Rolfe where Glenn farmed for several years. They then lived in various cities in the Midwest and out east. Glenn sold insurance for several years and spent most of his working career in the trucking and transportation industry. In 1990 Glenn married Ruth Ann Kuebler in Indianapolis, IN. Glen continued working in the transportation business and eventually became a truck safety instructor, of which he was very passionate about. He retired in the early 2000's and then returned to Rolfe in 2007.

Glenn was a member of Faith Community Church, the Lions Club, Masons, Scottish Rite, York Rite, Shriners, Tall Cedars and Western Maryland Kentucky Colonels. He was very active in the Rolfe Lions Club and with the Shriners, helping transport people to Shriners Hospitals. Glenn especially enjoyed his grandchildren and following their activities.

Survivors include his daughters, Kristine (John) Bristow of Colorado Springs, CO and Tammy Markley of Webster City and granddaughters, Catherine, Elizabeth and Grace Bristow. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Sharla Markley, and a sister, Inez Busby.
