Gordy Scott, age 84, of Pocahontas, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD.

Lloyd Gordon Scott was born August 15, 1939, on the farm near Pocahontas, Iowa. He was the son of Lloyd W. and Lucile (Cook) Scott. Gordy graduated from the Pocahontas Catholic High School in 1958. Following graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving from 1960 to 1963. Gordy returned to Pocahontas following his military service where he farmed. On December 15, 2003, Gordy was united in marriage to Mary Cae Zdrazil in Newell, Iowa. The couple lived on the farm until 2017 when they moved into Pocahontas.

Gordy was a member of Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion and Whitetails Unlimited. He enjoyed farming, fishing, boating, sailing, golfing, and time at the lake.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Cae of Pocahontas; children, Chris (Tricia Mouw) Scott of Sioux Falls, SD, Jamie (Audrey) Scott of West Des Moines, and Jason Scott of Pocahontas; step-children, Steph Barrett of Waukee and Stephen (Angie) Zdrazil of Fort Dodge; 10 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; sisters, Joanne Monaghan of Dallas, TX and Barb (Skip) Scott of Okoboji, and a brother, John (Louisa) Scott of Silver Spring, MD.

Gordy was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother-in-law, Ed Monaghan.
