Guy Anthony Dewey, age 63, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 8th, at his home in Rolfe.

Guy was born on July 19th, 1960 in Fort Dodge, Iowa, to Raymond and Barbara (Bloom) Dewey.  When he was a little boy, his family moved from Fort Dodge to a farm outside of Rolfe where he attended Rolfe Community School and was a member of St. Margaret's Catholic Church.

In 1983, Guy started dating Connie Guerttman, also of Rolfe.  They were married in 1989 and made their home in Rolfe where they raised their three children, Crystal, Angela and Trinity.

In 1978, at the age of 18, Guy started his career as a drill operator and dynamiter with Midwest Limestone (later bought out by Martin Marietta), in Gilmore City, Iowa.  In 1997, he was promoted to Plant Manager of the Pedersen Quarry in Humboldt and then the Alden Quarry in 2006 and soon after the Portable Group as well.  In 2011, Guy accepted the position of Plant Manager of the Moore Quarry in Gilmore City and he and Connie moved back to Rolfe.  On September 12th, 2022, after 44 years of service, Guy retired from his self-proclaimed position as "Plant Manager Extraordinaire."

Guy was a lover of nature.  You could always find him in his back yard feeding the birds, the squirrels or the neighbor's horse.  He loved to spend time mowing his "lush lawn" or watching tv in his man cave with his baby Dixie.

Guy is survived by his wife, Connie; his daughters, Crystal (Jason) Grebner of Humboldt; Angela (Blu) Riedesel of Gowrie; grandchildren, Ryan, Madison (Lee Carlton) and Braden Grebner, Kelcy (Trey) Jackson, Davanee Riedesel, Hope, Noah, Faith and Adam Dewey; and three great-grandchildren; his parents, Raymond and Gloria Dewey of Rolfe; sisters, Barbie Zeman, Shelly (Brad) Anderson, Sherry (Doug) Allen; brother Ed (Becky) Dewey; step-siblings Vicki, Bill, Lisa, Connie and Steven; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother Barbara; his son Trinity; father-in-law and mother-in-law Jerry and Rose Guerttman; brother-in-law Terry Zeman; and his grandparents.
