James F. Abrahamson – age 79, of North Canton, OH, formerly of Palmer, passed away on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, as a result of COVID-19.

James Fredrick Abrahamson was born April 28, 1942 in Ft. Dodge, Iowa, to Cliff and Fern (Johnson) Abrahamson. He graduated from Pomeroy High School in 1960, then continued his education at Drake University. On March 3, 1963 James was united in marriage to Betty Askildson in Des Moines, Iowa. The couple had 4 children.  They moved to New Hope, MN in 1968, then to Poland, OH in 1981. Betty passed away in 1994.

James worked in management and sales for RJ Reynolds for more than 35 years.  After retiring in 2000, he lived in the Akron-Canton, OH area with a few years in Morrisville, NC before moving back to North Canton, OH in 2013.

On July 1, 1995, James married Sheryl Plummer in Canton, OH. Sheryl passed away in 2017, and James continued to make his home in North Canton, OH.

James enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening, playing Texas Holden, having fun at casinos and traveling. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

James is survived by his children, Michael Abrahamson of North Canton, OH, Michelle Robell of Palo Alto, CA and Donelle Abrahamson of Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Yasmin, Shan, Ally, Davin, and Sarah; step-children, Schanin, Tracie and Chris; step-grandchildren, Gage, Baylee and Makenna; a sister, Karen Abrahamson and sister-in-law, Virginia Abrahamson.

James was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Betty Abrahamson; second wife, Sheryl Abrahamson; son, David Abrahamson and brothers, John Abrahamson and Kenneth Abrahamson.
