James D. Jensen – age 55, of Severn, Maryland, formerly of Rolfe, Iowa passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at his home in Severn, Maryland.
James Darryl Jensen was born July 18, 1963, in Storm Lake, Iowa. He was the son of Lance and Jo Ann (Beauvais) Jensen. On December 30, 1981, James married Christine Myers at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Rolfe. James graduated from Rolfe High School in 1982 and went on to serve in the United States Air Force. With his marriage, Rhiannon and Anastasia were born. The couple later divorced. James traveled the world in the military before retiring from the Air Force in 2004. After his retirement, James attended Iowa State University and then moved back to Maryland to work as a government contractor.
James was a member of the Gowrie American Legion. He loved riding his Harley, spending time with family and friends, watching his grandchildren grow up and traveling. He was an avid Star Trek and Star Wars junkie. He enjoyed watching anything sport-related, especially if the Iowa State Cyclones, Baltimore Ravens or Orioles were playing. In his spare time, James spent time in his garden of mums, at music concerts and working on computers.
Survivors include his daughters, Rhiannon Jensen of Odenton, MD Anastasia (Kyle) Robben of Bondurant, IA and; mother, Jo Ann Jensen of Gowrie, IA; sister, Merete (Jeff) Klocke of Rolfe, IA; four grandchildren, Jayna Liesch, Brooklynn, Aaliyah and Brecken Robben; niece and nephew, Verdy and Vanessa Klocke and many aunts, uncles and cousins. James was preceded in death by his grandparents; father, Lance Jensen; niece, Veda Klocke and step-father, Ervin Buske.
