James E. Williams - age 66, of Pocahontas, passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2019, at the Emmetsburg Care Center in Emmetsburg, Iowa.

The eldest child and son of Estelle Ai Williams and Luella Therldean (Wright) Williams, Jim was born on October 21, 1953 in Hyannis, Grant County, Nebraska. He spent his childhood and public schooling with his family in Pocahontas, Iowa. Most of his adult life was spent in central and western Nebraska where Jim occupied himself laboring in ranching and other activities. He was married to Barbara Jane Hickox in 1974, and to the marriage was born one daughter, Teresa Laneat Williams. Ailing in health, Jim's later years were spent as a resident in the home of his mother, Therldean "Terry" Williams in Pocahontas; care watchers of one another for several years.

Preceding him in death were his grandparents; his father, Estelle Ai Williams of Gilmore City, and brother Rick Leroy Williams of Pocahontas. He leaves in mourning his daughter, Teresa (Keith) Patterson of Arvada, Colorado; granddaughter, Katelyn and grandson, Adam Patterson; mother, Luella Therldean "Terry" Williams of Pocahontas; brothers, Alan (Sun) Williams of Chesterfield, MI, Ronald (Cindy) Williams of Sac City, IA, Gary (Angie) Williams of Emmetsburg, Roger (Bonnie) Williams of Mallard, John (Lisa) Williams of Pocahontas, Michael (Nicky) Williams of Forest City, IA; sisters, Retta (Ken Meiners) Williams of Carroll, IA, Sharon (Drew) Beeber of Carroll, IA, Beverly (Kevin) Meyer of Sac City, IA and Susan Williams (Torri) Glisson of Bainbridge, GA. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed by child and adulthood friends, neighbors, and all who came to know him. Powers Funeral Home, Pocahontas is in charge of arrangements.
