Jane R. Simonson- age 90, of Des Moines, formerly of Rolfe, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Sunny View Care Center in Ankeny, Iowa.

Jane Ruth Johnson was born October 3, 1931, in Rolfe and was the daughter of George and Hanna (Bangert) Johnson. Jane graduated from Rolfe High School. In 1953, Jane was united in Marriage to Alan Simonson in Sacramento, California. Together they had 2 children Greg and Lori. After living in Sacramento, California for several years, they returned to Des Moines, where they then would raise their family. After Alan passed away in 2003, Jane continued to make her home in Des Moines. Jane worked at Mercy Hospital in the billing department for many years, where she eventually retired from. After retiring, she worked for Kelley assisted living, as a home health aide.

Jane loved reminiscing over old photographs she collected, and was always eager to share them when loved ones were in her company. Jane was a lover of food, especially desert. She also loved traveling, and visiting with family and friends. She had a love for Jesus and was a member of New Hope Assembly of God in Urbandale, Iowa.

Survivors include her son Greg Simonson, son-in-law Jerry (Amy) Moore, all of Des Moines; sister Carol Schmidt, brother, Paul Johnson, 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Jane was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alan Simonson; daughter Lori Moore; sisters Maxine Clausen, Lois Stanley, and Geraldine Zeman; and daughter-in-law, Shirley Simonson.

Funeral Services will be at 10:30 AM, Friday, April 8th, 2022, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Rolfe, Iowa. Burial to follow at Clinton-Garfield Cemetery, in Rolfe.
