Janet R. Schott – age 75, of Fort Dodge formerly of Humboldt and Pocahontas, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022, at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

Janet Rose Crouse was born on August 28, 1946, in Boone, Iowa. She was the daughter of Harry and Marjorie (Lineweber) Crouse. She graduated from East Greene High School in 1964 and went on to earn an Associates of Arts degree from Boone Junior College in 1968. She attended UNI and then transferred to Westmar College graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1971. On June 26, 1971, Janet was united in marriage to James Schott in Jefferson. The couple lived in Pocahontas, Prairie City and Iowa Falls. Janet worked as a schoolteacher in Prairie City and then at the ASCS office in Iowa Falls for many years. In 2002, Jim retired and they moved to Humboldt. Jim passed away in 2015 and Janet continued to make her home in Humboldt.

In her earlier years Janet was a member of 4H and she played the organ for many Sunday services. She enjoyed coloring projects, sewing, working on scrapbooks, collecting precious moment dolls and attending auctions and garage sales. She especially enjoyed children and babysitting and going out to eat with family and friends.

Survivors include her sons, Jason Schott of Humboldt and Michael (Lisa Stock) Schott of Humboldt; 5 grandchildren; sister, Jean (Randy) Bosworth of Johnston and brother, Dale (Teresa) Crouse of Dana. Janet was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Jim.
