Jayne Barekas, age 71 of Sac City, IA, passed away on Monday, May 17, 2022, at MercyOne Regional Medical Center in Downtown Des Moines, IA.  Jayne Lurida was born on December 9, 1950, to parents Cliff and Lois (Wycoff) Weisenborn in Humboldt, IA.  She grew up in Sac City where she attended grade school and graduated from Sac High School with the class of 1969.  After graduation, she raised her 2 children in Sac City and the surrounding areas. In the late 1980's Jayne moved to Des Moines to peruse a career as an executive secretary for a Des Moines bank for several years.  In her free time, Jayne enjoyed sewing and quilting.  She also loved going antiquing and cherished her two cats, Bella and Birdie.

Those left to cherish her memory include her special friend Steve Harjes of Sac City, IA; children: Tami (Don Tweedt) Wunschel of Des Moines, IA, and Kristi (Jason) Gosch of Auburn, IA;   Joe (Katie) Harjes of Sac City, IA; grandchildren: Stephanie (Joe) Glasnapp, Shelbi Langford, Dakota Langford, and Maggie Gosch (Ethan Bruning); siblings Dana (Joann) Weisenborn of AZ and Jill Wilhelm of Des Moines, IA; great-grandchildren: Kase Glasnapp, Waverly Glasnapp, and Paislee Bruning; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Jayne was preceded in death by her parents and brother Dennis Weisenborn.
