Jeanine A. Johnson – age 60, of Pocahontas, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2021 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

Jeanine Ann Leach was born September 10, 1960 in Charles City, Iowa. She was the daughter of Everett and Lois Joann (Haagenson) Leach. She attended the Charles City Schools before moving to Humboldt, graduating from the Humboldt High School in 1979. She then attended Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge where she earned an associates degree in Community Service. On May 18, 1998, Jeanine was united in marriage to Eric Johnson in Pocahontas, Iowa. The couple settled in Pocahontas. She worked as a CNA at area care centers and then began work as a CNC machinist operator at IIH. After her time at IIH, Jeanine worked at the Wild Rose Casino in Emmetsburg until retiring in 2019.

Jeanine was a member of the Hope United Methodist Church where she served on the ladies circle. She enjoyed attending the Renaissance Fair, reading, doing puzzle books, playing board games, and studying history. She liked cats and particularly loved spending time with her grandson and daughter.

Survivors include her husband, Eric Johnson of Pocahontas; daughter, Kara (Greg) Wilson of Ankeny; son, Jeremy Strait; grandson, Donavin Strait; brother, Jim (Debra Colborn) Leach of Princeton, MN, and sister, Deb (Ross) Abels of Coralville, IA. Jeanine was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Douglas Leach.
