Jeffrey Kevin Johnson was born on March 6, 1960 in Spencer, Iowa. He was the son of Delbert "Bud" and Frances (Ohrtman) Johnson of Pocahontas. Jeff graduated from Pocahontas High School in 1978. Following high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he served for 20 years and was honorably discharged in 1998 . He was stationed at numerous locations around the world and served tours in Desert Storm, Somalia and Bosnia, just to name a few. Following his service to our country, Jeff worked for the State of Delaware as a prison guard for 15 years.

He married Susan Haley and to this union a daughter, Nacole Elizabeth was born, who tragically passed away at the age of 2 years old.

Jeff was an Eagle Scout, a Shriner, a member of the VFW, the American Legion and the Blue Lodge. He was proud to earn the rank of Master Mason and attain the 32nd Degree in the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry.

Jeff enjoyed spending time with his friends & family, riding his Harley, competing in pool tournaments, watching NASCAR & rooting on his favorite team, the Cowboys.

Survivors include his sister Jane (Phil) Smith of Harlan, Iowa, nephews Bennett Flaherty (Kristi) of Des Moines, Iowa, Jordan Flaherty of Des Moines, Iowa, Mitchell (Jodie) Flaherty of Logan, Iowa, niece Zoey Smith of Schleswig, Iowa, great-nephew's Kyle Hast, Cameron Flaherty & Liam Flaherty & great-niece Kora Flaherty, special East Coast friends Alex & Debbie Betts, Tater & Rene Rohe, Chris & Mac Forbes, Anthony D'Angelo & many other relatives & friends.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents Fran & Bud Johnson & daughter Nacole Johnson.

Jeff will always be remembered for his service to our country and his love of family & friends!
