Jeffrey D. Roetman – age 67, of Carroll passed away Thursday, May 18, 2023, at the Regency Park Nursing & Rehab in Carroll, Iowa.

Jeffrey DeWayne Roetman was born on August 6, 1955, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was the son of DeWayne and Darlene (Richards) Roetman. He graduated from Prairie of Gowrie High School in 1973 and went to Iowa Central Community College where he earned a degree in Law Enforcement. Jeff served as a police officer with the Odebolt and Sac City Police Departments. In 1979, Jeff began working as a Deputy for the Carroll County Sheriffs Department, while living in Carroll and Breda. In the early 1990s, Jeff went on to Buena Vista College where he earned a BA Degree in Business Management and began working as a salesman for Wheeled Coach Mfg. In 2004, Jeff moved to Iowa City where he worked as an accountant for Midwest Frame & Axel, retiring in 2022. Jeff had a passion for fishing, and as a result of a college project, he created a company called Marked Fishing Maps, which he operated for many years.

Jeff was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, walks with his dog Jorey, taking his kids and grandkids fishing and hunting for mushrooms. He was an avid lifelong Iowa Hawkeye Fan and he enjoyed playing YAHTZEE with family members which he especially enjoyed winning.

Survivors include his children, Tyler (Jenny) Roetman of Carroll, Tiffany (Chris) Julin of LeMars, Brittany Roetman of Manning, Brooke (Chris Mundt) Roetman of Manning and Jordan Roetman of Hiawatha; eight grandchildren, Kailee Birch, Kaiden Birch, Siddalee Roetman, Ellyce Roetman, Hunter Heim, Liam Prichard, Cooper Mundt and Brynleigh Mundt; sister, Jennifer (Rob) Heuertz of LeMars; brothers, Joel (Tammy) Roetman of Coon Rapids and James (Julie) Roetman of Pocahontas and many nieces & nephews.  Jeff was preceded in death by his parents.
