Jennifer Sporleder, age 91, of Lake City, IA, passed away at the Accura HealthCare of Lake City.  Jennifer Bedford was born on January 19, 1935, to parents Eugene and Janet (Williams) Bedford in New York City, NY.   At six months old, Jennifer and her family moved to California, where she attended Franklin Elementary School in Hollywood, CA, and later graduated from John Marshall High School in Los Angeles, CA.

On February 11, 1967, Jennifer was united in marriage to Henry C. Sporleder in Pasadena, CA.  This union was blessed with two children: Mike and Dirck.  Jennifer and her family moved to Arizona, where she worked as a secretary with Tucson Realty and was an accountant with Tusonix Inc.  She retired in January of 1998, and they moved to Lake City, IA, in 1999, after Henry retired.  Jennifer was very involved in her community.  She was the Monday Club's past President, a member of the Red Hats, worked in the dietary department at Shady Oaks, and volunteered her time at the hospital, theatre, and food pantry.  She was also an active member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church and secretary of the Woodlawn Christian Church.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Mike Sporleder of Lake City, IA, and Dirck Sporleder of Sacramento, CA; brother Dirck L. Bedford of Orange, CA, and many friends.

Jennifer was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Janet Bedford; husband, Henry C. Sporleder; and siblings: Eugene S. Bedford and Charlotte V. Wickes.

The Memorial Service will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at the Pilgrim Lutheran Church. Visitation will be 1 hour before the service at the Pilgrim Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Lake City Cemetery.
