God has called another angel home to be with him. Jerry A. Guerttman passed away on May 15th, 2021, surrounded by his family at home, after a courageous battle with cancer. Jerry was born June 15th, 1938 to the proud parents of Louis and Mina (Keena) Guerttman in Iowa City. Dorothy, Paul, Ralph and Joseph were proud to welcome their little brother into the family. They resided in Humboldt, Iowa where Jerry attended school.

Jerry met the love of his life Rose Spurling in Fonda, Iowa and was united in marriage November 21st, 1956. They resided in Dakota City where to this union a daughter Debbie and two sons Robert and William had become part of the family. Moving to Bradgate three more children joined the growing family, Connie, Ronnie and Sherry. But there was one more to come, Kathy rounding out the loving family after moving to Rolfe where he and his family have lived since 1964.

Jerry was a hard working man. He held many jobs over his lifetime to include but not limited to working at the Humboldt Coke plant, rock quarry in Bradgate, he ran his business Jerry's Plumbing and Heating and finally the recycling master of Rolfe. Not a person he met would he not help.

Jerry leaves behind a large family and many friends that loved, cherished and respected him. His children Debbie Dangelser, Robert (Becky) Guerttman, William (Marie) Guerttman, Connie (Guy) Dewey, Ronnie Guerttman, Sherry (Brad) Jones, and Kathy (Donnie) Kent, grandchildren Michelle (Jeff) Ferguson, Crystal (Jason) Grebner, Jeffrey Guerttman, Jeremiah (Kelsey) Guerttman, Bradley Kent, Nicholas Kent , Adam (Ashley) Kingery, Amanda (Charlie) Ostlund, Hannah Jones, Cole Jones, Tony (Katie) Halligan, Angela(Blu)Riedesel, Tammy Markley, and Ricky (Sarah) Markley, twenty-one great grandchildren and Betty Markley, his longtime companion.

Jerry is preceded in death by his wife Rose, Father and Mother, sister Dorthy, brothers Gilbert, Paul, Ralph and Joseph. And one grandson Trinity Dewey.

What a man leaves behind is a tribute to who the man was and Jerry was a man larger than life itself.
