Jerry A. Lotz - age 88, of Pocahontas, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at his home in Pocahontas, Iowa.

Jerry Allen Lotz was born July 19, 1930, in Minneapolis, MN. He was the son of Erich and Helen (Lindquist) Lotz. Jerry attended Minneapolis schools and later earned his GED. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951 – 1954 during the Korean War. On May 10, 1952, Jerry married Betty Robinson in Killeen, TX. Jerry worked at a machine shop in Minneapolis until he moved to Hamburg, Iowa where he operated Lotz Sheet metal. In 1967, he moved to Pocahontas where he worked at Iowa Industrial Hydraulics as a machinist. Jerry married Lavonne Widlund at Trinity Lutheran near Pocahontas.

Jerry was a member of the AmVets. He loved hunting, fishing and trapping. He enjoyed making wine and was known for his dandelion wine. He also enjoyed making baked goods and then giving them away to family and friends.

Jerry is survived by his children, Chris (Wayne) Bennett of Hamburg, Susan Doan of Fort Dodge, Pam (Rich) Mundinger of Hamburg, Sherry (Glen "Butch") Juilfs of Pocahontas, Scott (Rumiko) Lotz of Japan, Traci Lotz of California, Erich Lotz of Mankato, MN and Heidi (Aaron) Fahrmann of Storm Lake; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; sisters, Judy (Don) Olson of California and Liane (Wayne) Bystrom of St. Paul, MN and brothers, Richard (Joyce) Lotz and Ron (Cheri) Lotz all of Minneapolis, MN. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents.
