Joanne Lee Crotty – 87, of Laurens, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2019, at the Laurens Care Center in Laurens, Iowa.

Joanne Lee Dean was born on December 15, 1931 in Laurens, Iowa. She was the daughter of Wiley and Dorothy Dean. Joann graduated from Laurens High School. On May 26, 1951, she married Dean Crotty. The couple made their lives on the farm near Laurens and moved to town in 1995. Joanne's greatest love was time spent with her five boys and her grandkids. She was a loving mom and grandma and welcomed their friends and escapades as part of it all. They could not have asked for a stronger advocate than their mom. She was a long time bridge player, loved to read, do crossword puzzles, and spend time with her friends. She was an avid sports fan and was there cheering on her kids and grandkids. She also followed her Cyclones and Hawkeyes. Joanne spent many years working at the Laurens Care Center and was an active volunteer in Laurens.

Survivors include her sons, Dave (Sue) of Hillsboro, OR, Dan of Forest Grove, OR, Donn of Hillsboro, OR, Doug of St. George UT and Dirk (Angie) of Laurens, IA; grandchildren, Melissa, Kelly, Sean, Derek, Drew, McKenna, Tre and Austin; great-grandchildren, Ashtyn, Hailey, Camden and Taylor; brothers, Jerry (Mary) Dean of Laurens, IA, Roger (Jean) Dean of Austin, TX and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Joanne was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Patricia and her sister, Joyce.
