Come & Go Celebration of Life for John will be held

from 1:00 - 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2020,

at the Palmer Community Building, Palmer, Iowa.

John M. Ball - age 82, of Palmer, passed away Monday July 27, 2020, at the Pocahontas Community Hospital in Pocahontas, Iowa.

John Morgan Ball was born on March 13, 1938, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was the son of Roy Ball and Katherine (Morgan) Foster. He graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1957. John served in the 113 ^th Squadron of the Iowa Air National Guard. In 1961, John was united in marriage to Delores Lampe at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Palmer, Iowa. The couple lived in Fort Dodge until 1966, when they settled in Palmer. John worked as a switchman for the Illinois Central Rail Road for 25 years. He retired from the railroad in 1982, due to health reasons. He went on to do carpentry work for many years, retiring in 2008.

John was a member of the Catholic Church, Moose Lodge and AmVets. He enjoyed playing cards and he especially enjoyed doing woodworking projects.

Survivors include his children, Michelle (Dennis Sr.) Canada of LaVista, NE; Alan (Jane) Ball of Shelby, IA and DeAnn Ball of Bellevue, NE; three grandchildren; sisters, Sharon (Gerald) Slotten of Phoenix and Sally Sweeney of Des Moines; half-sister, Raynette (Tom) McGonegle of Fort Dodge; step-sister, Sandra Gobeli of Fort Dodge and half-brother, Gail (Janiece) Foster of Fort Dodge. John was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Delores and son, David.
