Jon "Jack" Aden, age 82, of Gilmore City/Pocahontas, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2024, at Arlington Place in Pocahontas, Iowa.

Jon Warren Aden was born May 3, 1942, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, to Henry H. and Margaret (Behrends) Aden. He grew up on a farm north of Palmer, Iowa his whole life, working as a farm boy along with his brothers, Harold and Duane. Jon attended one year of country school and then got to go to 'city' school in Pocahontas, graduating from there in 1960. While in high school, one of his jobs on his family's farm was milking cows and he got to keep ⅕ of the cream checks. He saved this money, using it to buy his first car, a 1950 Ford, for $300 but more importantly, taking his special gal, Gloria Anderson, out on dates. After attending trade school in Omaha and receiving his certificate in Automobile Body and Fender Repair in July of 1961, he began working at Rost Motors in Manson, IA. His next major goal in life was to marry his special gal and he tied the knot with his Gloria on October 14, 1961. In April of 1962, the couple moved near Pioneer as Jon was hired by Robert Fevold, working as a hired hand milking cows. Later that same year, on Thanksgiving weekend, they moved and settled on an acreage between Gilmore City and Palmer where they would call home for the next 60 years. Here, together with his bride, he raised livestock, corn, soybeans, and their four children.

Jon loved the life he lived as a farmer, father, and friend but the main focus of his life changed direction in 1977 when he accepted Jesus as his Savior. From that day, Jesus became his first love and cornerstone of his life. Jon spent the rest of life with a passion to share his faith with others. He was a prayer warrior and prayed for each member of his family daily. He was dearly loved by them and Jon shared with them often how thankful he was that they were not only his family but also best friends.

Jon was involved in his community but he most loved serving in his church. He was a founding member of Faith Community Church and enjoyed serving in many areas there. He loved visiting with people about farming, family, and most importantly Jesus.

Jon is survived by his wife (Gloria) and daughters, Julie (Gregg), Jeanne (Troy), and Amy (Brian). 12 grandchildren: Nick (Lindsay), Luke (Courtney), Hope (Sam), Brittany (Morghan), Blake (Paige), Jaclyn (Jeramey), Brooke, Trent, Jaden (Boston), Faith, Ryan, and Carson. 13 great-grandchildren with two more on the way. Sisters-in-law, Donalee Aden and Judy Johnson, and brother-in-law, Arlen Anderson, along with many special nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Lillie, and son, Jim. His parents, both brothers, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Eldon J. and Marie Anderson, and brother-in-law, Kenny Johnson.
