Jon R. McCullough – age 73, of Pocahontas, Iowa, passed away on Friday, December 4, 2020 at his home in Pocahontas, Iowa.

Jon Robert McCullough was born on October 8, 1947, at Gaylord, Minnesota. He was the son of Charles and Alta (Berg) McCullough. He was educated in schools in Gaylord and St. Peter, MN. He served in the U.S. Army and saw combat in Vietnam. He lived in Minnesota and worked in the trucking business. After many long years, Jon reunited with the love of his life, Susan, and they were married on October 13, 1989, at LeCenter, MN. The couple lived in LeCenter until 2005 when they moved to Pocahontas, Iowa. Jon continued trucking until retiring in 2011. After many medical setbacks with his heart and COPD and with some complications with COVID recently, Jon fought a good fight, but went home to be with our Heavenly Father.

Jon was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who loved fishing, camping and working on motors.

Survivors include his wife, Susan of Pocahontas; children, Bonnie (Scott) Hank of LeSueur, MN, Theresa (Jamie) David and Mark (Shauna) Kubat all of LeCenter, MN, Jeremy (special friend, Shauna) Kubat of Pocahontas, Jesse (Amy Nyberg) Dunn of Mankato, MN and Dee Dee (special friend, Alvin) McCullough of Kiester, MN; grandchildren, Sarah (Matt), Sammy (Adam), Joe (Hannah), Rachel (Tom), Megan (Thomas), Curtis, Lucas, Amber, Jacob, Katie, Georgie, Mari, Maia, Paige, Graham, Veronica, Terri Lynn (Christian); many great-grandchildren; sisters, Irene Jones of Grand Meadows, MN and Vikki (Roger) Vanveldhuizen of Northfield, MN and many nieces and nephews.

Jon was preceded in death by his parents; son, Bill Barta; brother, Charles McCullough and sister, Dee Dee McCullough.
