Judy O. Brady, age 83, of Pocahontas, formerly of Alcester, SD, passed away peacefully at her home in Arlington Place of Pocahontas, Iowa, on Thursday, March 6, 2025.

Judith Osa Robertson was born on October 8, 1941, in Hawarden, Iowa. She was the daughter of Paul and Virginia (Mieras) Robertson. She graduated from Hawarden High School in 1959 and went on to Business Secretarial School in Sioux Falls, SD.  She worked at the Sioux Falls Stockyards. She then moved to Omaha where in 1962, she met the love of her life, William Brady. They were united in marriage on September 15, 1962.  In 1975, Bill and Judy moved their family from the big city of Omaha to an acreage near Alcester, South Dakota. They were always looking out for their daughters and felt raising them in a small town would be beneficial and would allow them to be around family. Judy had several jobs before working at the Alcester State Bank. She started as a bank teller and then moved to the insurance department as a secretary.  In 1996, Judy and Bill sold their acreage and moved into the town of Alcester. They loved their home in town where they had the grade school playground in their backyard. Judy retired from the bank in 2009. Due to declining health, Judy and Bill sold their home in 2016 and moved to an apartment in Alcester for a few months. They then moved to Golden Meadows apartments in Manson, Iowa in January of 2017 and then to Arlington Assisted Living in May 2018. While missing their town of Alcester and their many friends, they were blessed with new friends at Arlington. Bill passed away in March of 2022 and Judy continued to make her home in Arlington Place.

Judy was an active member of the Alcester Baptist Church and helped with the Alcester Meal's on Wheels. She enjoyed playing dominos, reading and walking and especially loved spending time baking and cooking along with canning and gardening. She was well known for her hot fudge sauce. Over the years, Judy and Bill enjoyed traveling and doing bus tours and spent time wintering in the South.

Survivors include her children, Susan (Brent) Aden of Pomeroy, IA, Shayna (Michael) Ness of Waubay, SD and Kathleen (Larry) Ouellette of Green Bay, WI, 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Sylvia (Duane Schwada) Kallsen, Tyleen Montgomery and Trenna (Rob) Wunder along with many nieces and nephews.  Judy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill and a brother, Dennis Robertson.
