Karl Grossman, age 86 of Lake City, IA, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, June 29, 2024.  Karl William Grossman was born on November 28, 1937, to parents John and Ruth (Howell) Grossman in Des Moines, IA.  He was baptized at the age of 12 and later confirmed.  Karl graduated from Tech High in Des Moines with the class of 1955.  After graduation, he joined the Air Force on Aug. 6, 1957, and earned a technical degree in 1959.  He served his country as an Airman First Class and was honorably discharged on July 25, 1961.

In 1962, Karl married the love of his life at the Justice of the Peace in Denver, CO.  This union was blessed with two children: Karl B. and Dina.  Karl worked as a Jet Mechanic and lead mechanic for United Airlines up until his retirement in 1993.  After retirement, he enjoyed mining, collecting antiques, reading, and listening to music.  Karl also enjoyed attending church activities and private school activities.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Donna Grossman of Lake City, IA; children: Karl (Katherine) Grossman of Magnolia, TX, and Dina Grossman of Brookings, OR; grandchildren: Kyle Grossman (fiancé Jenna) of Wiota, IA, Kristy (Zach) Marcisz of Hockley, TX, Kodi Grossman of Austin, TX, Kolton Grossman of Brookshire, TX, and Kasey Grossman of Magnolia, TX; great-grandchild Raelynn Marcisz; sister Diane (Chuck) Stevens of MO.

Karl was preceded in death by his parents and siblings John Grossman, Gene Grossman, Beverly Caley, and JoAnne Lees.
