Cherokee – Karon LaVine, 87, formerly of Lake City, died Monday, March 15, 2021 at The Gardens Assisted Living in Cherokee.  No funeral services are planned at this time.  Lampe & Powers Funeral Home in Lake City is assisting the family.

Karon Elaine (Edgington) LaVine was born on June 30, 1933 in Lake City, Iowa to William and Blanche (Burley) Edgington.  She graduated from high school in 1951 then worked as a telephone operator.  On October 23, 1954, Karon married Ronald LaVine in Lake City.

Karon is survived by her daughters Denise Geisler of Jefferson and Crystal Woltman of Cherokee; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents William and Blanche Edgington; husband Ron LaVine; and sister Beverly Fitzgerald.
