Kathryn Elizabeth (Heykes) Stamper, 72, of Gilmore City entered the Kingdom Eternal November 15, 2021 at the Pocahontas Community Hospital.

Kathy was born to Richard and LuElla Heykes on July 21, 1949, in Laurens, Iowa. She was named after her Grandmothers – Catherine Heykes and Lizzie Wolkenhauer. On October 23, 1971, she was united in marriage to Steve Stamper of Gilmore City, Iowa. Affectionately called Kate, by her husband of 50 years, she is survived by Steve and their three children: Kristi Meyering (Mike) of Bennington, Nebraska, and their children Korissa, Tyler, and Jamieson; Brian Stamper (Amber) of Clive, Iowa, and their children Caden, Daelynn, and Evey; and Brittney Prescott (Jesse) of Granger, Iowa. She is also survived by her sister Carol Jensen of Humboldt, Iowa.

Kathy graduated from Palmer High School in 1967. She continued her education at Mankato Commercial College graduating in 1968. She was employed by Iowa State University until her marriage when she started her career as a farm wife. Once her children entered school, she worked 17 years for the Pocahontas County Home Health, where she touched the lives of many, until her retirement due to health reasons and continued her career as a farm wife. Kathy was active in the Methodist Church teaching Sunday school, working with the after-school programs, and serving in various capacities with the women's groups. Kathy loved and treasured time with family, especially her grandchildren, playing games and creating arts and crafts.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, in-laws Richard and Dorothy Stamper, and brother-in-law John Jensen.
