Kathy A. Sefcik – age 68, of Ottosen, passed away on Sunday, March 28, 2021, at the Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

Katheryn Ann Iehl was born on February 17, 1953, in Storm Lake, Iowa. She was the daughter of Everett and Barbara (Irwin) Iehl.   She graduated from Albert City-Truesdale High School in 1971. Kathy attended and received her certification from Storm Lake School of Cosmetology. On September 10, 1988, Kathy was united in marriage to Paul Sefcik in Pocahontas. The couple lived on a farm near Ottosen where they settled and raised their family. Kathy operated a beauty salon in many places, including their farm. She also operated the beauty salon at Arlington Place in Pocahontas for many years.

Kathy was a very active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Rolfe, serving in many capacities, including as Deacon. She enjoyed camping, baking, crocheting, watching sports, doing crosswords and bowling, and especially loved spending time with her grandkids. Her smile, laugh, and caring presence will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Paul Sefcik of Ottosen; sons, Dustin (Chantal) Sefcik of Humboldt and Daniel (Deanna Cohoon) Sefcik of Laurens and two grandchildren, Remington and Wesley. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Kevin Iehl and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Al and Theresa Sefcik.
