Kathy A. Zech, age 78, of Sun City, AZ, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2025, at her home in Sun City, surrounded by her family.

Kathleen Ann Kenne was born February 8, 1947, in Fayetteville, North Carolina. She was the daughter of Eugene and Mary Jean (Ruppert) Kenne. Throughout childhood, Kathy and her family moved often due to her father's military service. She attended schools in Iowa, Indiana, Germany and Minnesota. She graduated from Madison East High in Madison, Wisconsin. Kathy continued her education at Career Academy in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to become a Dental Assistant. On July 8, 1967, Kathy was united in marriage to Robert Zech in Mallard, Iowa. She was the heart and soul of her family. She was a devoted mother to her 4 children and stayed at home with them until 1983. She went back into the workforce with the schools so she had holidays and vacations off with her kids. After they were grown, she went back to work in the dental industry as a receptionist until she retired. In 2002, Kathy and Bob moved to Sun City, Arizona.

Kathy enjoyed teaching religious education in her younger years at St. Bernard Parish in Omaha, NE. She was an active member of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, where she helped with their religious education and Vacation Bible School programs. She also enjoyed working with the Ladies of St. Elizabeth Seton Society in Sun City, especially the knitters. She enjoyed reading, doing her word search puzzles, baking, and many crafts.  She especially loved time spent with family.

Kathy's legacy is one of compassion, resilience, endless love, and immense faith.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Robert (Bob) of Sun City, AZ; sons, Daryl (Sherri) Zech of Waverly, IA and James (Connie) Zech of Mesa, AZ; daughters, Lisa (Jack) Edelen of Glendale, AZ and Angela (Rick) Blakey of Maricopa, AZ.; grandchildren, Ashley (Jordan) Shannon, Andrew Zech, Rimiere Blakey, Breann, Aubree and Tyler Zech; great grandson, Weston; and siblings, Kerry (Phyllis) Kenne of Dover, MN; Kevin (Martha) Kenne of Dexter, MN; Karlene (Bill) Wiemers of Larchwood, IA; Kyle (Shelley) Kenne of Tucson, AZ; Kris (Melody) Kenne of Papillion, NE and Kent (Sunni) Kenne of Shawnee, KS.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Jeannie Kenne.
