Kenny W. Bennett - age 72, of Rolfe, passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at his home in Rolfe, Iowa.

Kenneth Wayne Bennett, was born March 27, 1946 to Wes and Elaine (Northern) Bennett at their home north of Rolfe. Kenny was the fifth of eight children and enjoyed growing up on the farm. He received his elementary education at DMT and then went to Rolfe where he met the love of his life, Barbara Wagner.

Kenny graduated from Rolfe in 1964 and began working at the Farmer's Elevator (later known as PRO Coop). On April 23, 1966 he and Barbara were united in marriage at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Humboldt, Iowa.

Kenny was called to serve our country in 1966. He served as a Marine at Camp Pendelton in San Diego and Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. While at Camp Lejeune, Ken and Barb welcomed their first child, Melissa.

Shortly after Melissa's birth, Kenny was discharged and the three moved back to Rolfe. Kenny continued to work for the co-op for over forty years, retiring in March of 2006. He was an active member in his community, through work and as the Legion Commander for over 30 years. After retiring from the co-op, Kenny and Barb spent the falls going to the Hawkeye football games in Iowa City and the winters enjoying the sun in Arizona.

On February 9, 2019, Kenny lost his six-year battle with thyroid cancer at his home, with Barb by his side.

Many will remember Kenny for his passion of the game of golf. He simply loved to play golf and to teach anyone who wanted to learn. In his retirement he spent most of his days taking care of the Rolfe Golf Club and picking up the golf balls that lined the ditches of "Junior's" yard.

Kenny is survived by his wife, Barbara and their three daughters, Melissa VanDolah, Phoenix, AZ; Wendy (Terry) Panbecker, Pocahontas; Paula (Glenn) Michaels, Aurora, IL. His eight grandchildren, Harrison and Hunter VanDolah, Phoenix, AZ; Ashley (Tyler) Herrig, Greenville, IA, Ryan and Nicole Panbecker, Pocahontas, IA; Madison, David and Kenny Michaels of Aurora, IL will forever share the many fond memories of their grandpa.

Kenny is also survived by six siblings. Judy (Roger) Ditzenberger, Denton, Texas; Jack (Jody) Bennett, Humboldt; Tom (Alberta) Bennett, Ottosen; Susan (Denny) Hudek, Pocahontas; David (Kathy) Bennett, West Des Moines; and Machell Shawn (Tom Kenison) Bennett, Milford.
