Kevin L. Masten - age 40, of Havelock, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at the MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.

Kevin Lyle Masten was born on August 14, 1981, in La Crosse, Kansas. He was the son of Kenneth and Rosella (Schawe) Masten. He was educated in schools in Kansas. He lived in Dodge City, Kansas where he worked at Subway. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Waggoner on March 12, 2016, in Havelock, Iowa. That same year Kevin and Elizabeth moved from Kansas to Pocahontas, Iowa. Kevin was employed at Jack Links in Laurens and then worked at a chicken hatchery near Bancroft. In June of 2020, the couple moved to Havelock and Kevin retired due to poor health.

Kevin enjoyed racing, fishing and wrestling. He liked to go on car rides and to chase tornadoes. He also enjoyed grilling and barbecuing and most any outdoor activity.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth of Havelock; children, Alexander Masten and Mackenzie Masten both of Havelock; step-children, Caleb Geffs and Jasmine Geffs of Havelock; mother, Rosella Masten of Dodge City, KS; brothers, Jake Masten of Lincoln, NE and Albert Masten of Dodge City, KS and a sister, Victoria Buchanan of Lincoln, NE. Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Masten.
