Kevin D. Wagner - age 56, of Gilmore City, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2019, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
Kevin Dale Wagner was born on October 31, 1962, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was the son of Dale and Patricia (Behrendsen) Wagner. He graduated from Bedford High School, Bedford, Iowa in 1981 and went on to attend a trade school in Omaha, NE. On March 15, 1986, Kevin married Annie Herman in Pocahontas, Iowa. The couple settled in Gilmore City, where they raised their family. Kevin was employed at Calcium Products for many years, eventually becoming Plant Superintendent. He retired in 2010 due to poor health. Kevin was also active over the years in helping his father Dale on the farm.
Kevin served on the Gilmore City-Bradgate School Board for several years, was an EMT in Gilmore City for many years and had served as president of the Mid-Iowa Modified Pullers. Kevin loved the Packers and enjoyed golfing and camping. He attended many truck and tractor pulls with the Mid-Iowa Modified Pullers, pulling with his brother Cory. His truck was named Annie's Headache and then renamed Overdrawn. He also owned and operated a pulling tractor with Bill and Sheree Hoover named Crazy Horse.
Survivors include his wife, Annie of Gilmore City; children, Keegan (Soraya) of Cedar Rapids, Ashton (fiancée, Megan Flemr) of Des Moines, Kiley (Ben) Wadsley of Des Moines; a grandson, Elliot; mother, Patricia Wagner of Creston; grandmother, Vernice Wagner of Humboldt; sisters, Chris (Steve) Wintermute of Creston, and Kim (Kevin) Minnis of Ankeny; brother, Kolby (Joan) Wagner of Rockwell City; mother-in-law, Lucy Herman of Pocahontas; sister-in-law, Jolene (Jamie) Royster of Des Moines and several nieces and nephews.
Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Dale Wagner; brother, Cory Wagner; grandparents Lloyd and Grace Wagner and Iver and Cecelia Behrendsen and his father-in-law, John Herman.
