Kyle J. Rierson, age 46, of Pocahontas, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at the Pocahontas Community Hospital in Pocahontas, Iowa.

Kyle Joseph Rierson was born July 29, 1976, in Emmetsburg, Iowa. He was the son of Ken and Donna (Peters) Rierson. Kyle graduated from Emmetsburg High School in 1994. Following graduation, he worked for Pizza Ranch in Emmetsburg, Jackson and Estherville. He then worked for SkyJack in Emmetsburg and did construction work in the area. In August of 2002, Kyle began work at Pasquale's Food Service in Humboldt, where he was currently the manager. On August 2, 2003, Kyle was united in marriage to Misti Cunningham in Humboldt, Iowa. The couple lived in Gilmore City until 2005, when they settled in Pocahontas.

In high school, Kyle was very active in swing choir, jazz band, vocal, football, basketball and baseball. He was involved in several musical productions at the Main Street Community Theater in Emmetsburg. He coached soccer, flag football, little league and from 2018 to 2021, the Northwest Iowa Badger Softball Team. He also refereed both football and basketball. Kyle enjoyed golfing, was very active in Ducks Unlimited, and operated his own DJ business.

Kyle loved people and was very open about his faith and love for Jesus. His approach to life was "all in" and was evident in the way he worked, loved his family and inspired others to join in – be that sports, gatherings with family and friends, or even a fun night of karaoke.

Survivors include his wife, Misti of Pocahontas; children, Katie and Brianna of Pocahontas; his mother, Donna Rierson of Emmetsburg; brother, Shaun Rierson of Mankato, MN; grandmother, Jane Peters of Emmetsburg, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Kyle was preceded in death by his father, Ken, and grandparents, Don Peters, Jan Gass and Norris Rierson.
