Laurie L. DeWall, age 65, of Pocahontas, passed away Saturday, February 14, 2026, at her home near Pocahontas, Iowa.

Laurie Lee King was born November 16, 1960, in Emmetsburg, Iowa. She was the daughter of James and Sharon (Payton) King. Laurie was educated in Emmetsburg schools, graduating from Emmetsburg High School in 1979. Later she attended Iowa Lakes Community College, earning a degree in Computer Technology. On February 9, 1980, Laurie was united in marriage to David C. DeWall in Emmetsburg. The couple settled on the DeWall family farm near Pocahontas. Laurie worked as an abstractor for multiple abstract offices in the area. She also worked for Ag Partners, the Pocahontas AEA, NRCS and Hopkins Insurance.

Laurie was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church and the Ladies Circle. She was active with the Pocahontas Music Boosters. Laurie enjoyed walking, hiking and spending time at the lake. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband David C. DeWall of Pocahontas; daughters, Nicole (Austin) Stall of Spirit Lake and Heather (Aaron) Reed of Roselle, IL; grandchildren, Bently & Virgil Stall and Noraa & Lennox Reed; her mother, Sharon King; siblings, Jeff (Kim) King, Monte King, Danny (Selina) King and Kelly (Todd) Benz; in-laws, Dan (Laura) DeWall and Jane (Rod) Stoulil and many nieces & nephews.  Laurie was preceded in death by her father, James King.
