LaVonne Karhoff, age 93, of Pocahontas, passed away on Friday, May 2, 2025, at the Laurens Care Center in Laurens, Iowa.

Lois LaVonne Livermore was born on December 19, 1931, to Glen and Lila (Smith) Livermore. LaVonne was born at home near Anthon and delivered by a mid-wife. She graduated from Anthon High, where she met the love of her life, Bob. After graduation, LaVonne worked in a bank while they dated. Bob enlisted in the U.S. Army, he was stationed in Alaska during the Korean War and when he returned, he and LaVonne were married on June 4, 1953. In this marriage, three sons arrived: Michael, Kevin and Jeff. Over the years, LaVonne and Bob lived in Anthon, Alta, Reinbeck and then arrived in Pocahontas in 1966 where they settled. LaVonne worked at First Federal Bank in Pocahontas until her retirement. Bob passed away in 2017 and LaVonne continued to make her home in Pocahontas.

She was a member of Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters of America, Red Hat Society, and the Ladies Golf League. She sang for many years in the church choir. LaVonne and Bob enjoyed golfing in couples tournaments, and they loved to entertain family and friends. Holidays were very special times at the Karhoff household, and they always marked the calendar for the Men's Open Golf Tournament every year. If you ask any of her grandchildren about one thing that was great about grandma, they would all say, "Her cinnamon rolls!"

Survivors include her sons, Michael (Rose) Karhoff of Pocahontas, Kevin (Jean) Karhoff of Omaha, NE and Jeff (Shirley) Karhoff of Richfield, WI; 8 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sister, Doris Waugh, and a brother, Dean Livermore.

LaVonne was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bob; her parents, Glen and Lila, and a brother, Wayne Livermore.
