Lenora M. DeWall - age 89, of Pocahontas, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2020, at the Pocahontas Community Hospital in Pocahontas, Iowa.

Lenora Marie Hohensee was born July 10, 1930 in Western, Nebraska. She was the daughter of Milton and Marie (Collmann) Hohensee. She graduated from Pocahontas High School in 1947. On June 26, 1949, Lenora was united in marriage to Martin DeWall at the St. Peter Lutheran Church in Pocahontas. The couple farmed near Pocahontas for 7 years and then moved to a farm in the Rolfe area in 1958. They relocated to a farm near Gilmore City in 1977 and retired and moved into Pocahontas in 1988. Martin passed away in 2010 and Lenora continued to make her home in Pocahontas.

Lenora had a deep faith in her lord and savior Jesus Christ. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church and was a very active member of the WELCA and Ladies circle. She enjoyed traveling, fishing, reading and playing cards. She was a people person and enjoyed all types of social activities. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Brenda (Robert) Dodge of Britt, IA; Dennis (Debbie) DeWall of Hendersonville NC; Sharon (Jim) Bangert of Pocahontas, IA and Garry (Linda) DeWall of Madrid, IA; grandchildren, Timothy (Hillary) Dodge, Sarah (Brian) Powers, Kristin (Ryan) Volk, Melanie (Steve) Lukowych, Kyle (Darci) Bangert, Amy (David) Hickson, Travis Bangert, Laura Bangert, Jeremy (Kristin) Dodge and Emily DeWall; great grandchildren, Sam, Ava and Max Dodge, Arianna and Sophia Powers, Caleb, Kloe and Jadon Volk, Adelyn and Avery Bangert, Kayson Lukowych, Natalie and Alexa Hickson and Sydney Dodge; and sisters-in-law, Norma Hohensee of Dewitt, IA, Millie DeWall of Pocahontas and Maralyn DeWall of Boonville, MO.

Lenora was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Martin; infant sister, Jean; infant brother, Lawrence and brothers, Roland Hohensee and Lowell Hohensee.
