Lenus W. Schramm, age 86, of Pocahontas, passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.

Lenus Wayne Schramm was born December 26, 1937, in Newell, Iowa. He was the son of Fred and Ivanetta (Dankers) Schramm. Lenus attended Lutheran Schools in Knoke and then went on to Lytton High School, graduating in 1955. After graduation, he served in the National Guard. On March 16, 1957, Lenus was united in marriage to Georgia Keiser at St. John Lutheran Church in Lytton. The couple settled near Pocahontas where they farmed and raised their family. In 1991, they moved into Pocahontas and in 2003 they retired from farming. Georgia passed away in 2015 and Lenus continued to make his home in Pocahontas. In recent years, Lenus developed a special friendship with Mary Frances Mason. The two enjoyed each other's companionship and attending events together.

Lenus was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church where he served on the Church Board. He also served on the Pocahontas School Board for many years. Lenus loved farming and in his later years he was an avid "Road Farmer". He enjoyed raising livestock for many years and the many dogs that he had on the farm. Lenus also enjoyed golfing and woodworking and was an avid Hawkeye and Twins fan. He loved following his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren's activities and he treasured the time he spent with them.

Survivors include his daughters, Jackie (Brent) Boysen of Havelock, Jenifer (Mike) Krischel of Pocahontas and Jill (Tom) Nedved of Pocahontas; seven grandchildren, Shannon (Peter) Martinson, Shylar Barksdale, Brady Krischel, Crosby (Kaitlin) Krischel, Max (Kayla) Nedved, Jessica (Chris) Wright and Abigail Nedved; thirteen great-grandchildren, Colin, Cayden, Nevaeh, Callum, Arlo, Graham, Jack, Evie, Delaney, Ryder, Lillian, Emma and Hudson, and brothers, Hilbert (Corrine) Schramm of Amarillo, TX, Ralph (Barb) Schramm of Ankeny and Leon (Marilyn) Schramm of West Des Moines.

Lenus was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Georgia; brothers, Harris, Dale and Win Schramm; sister-in-law, Arnelda Schramm, and special friend, Mary Frances Mason.
