Lois J. McGovern – age 86, of Pocahontas, passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at the Pocahontas Manor in Pocahontas, Iowa.

Lois Jean Livingston was born on September 20, 1934, in Kansas City, Missouri. She was the daughter of George and Evelyn (Griggs) Livingston. Lois and her family moved to the Long Beach, California area, where she graduated from high school. In 1954, Lois was united in marriage to Pat McGovern in California. Lois was a Homemaker. The couple lived in Gardena and La Puente, California until relocating to Gowrie, Iowa in 1971. In 1975, they moved to Rockwell City, Iowa until moving to Anaheim, California. In 1989, they returned to Rockwell City before settling in Pocahontas in 1990.

Lois was a member of the Hope United Methodist Church and a past member of the Bread of Life Church. Lois enjoyed copying recipes, cooking and spending time with family.

Survivors include her husband, Pat McGovern of Pocahontas; children, Mark (Ellen) McGovern of Omaha, NE; Melinda (Greg) DuClos of Scottsdale, AZ and Marvin McGovern of Omaha, NE; six grandchildren; sister, Sharon Strickland of North Carolina and brothers, Charles Livingston of California and David Livingston of Pocahontas.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Clifford Livingston.
