Loni L. Luft – age 73, of Rolfe, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2023, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.

Loni Lou Auten was born on March 26, 1949, in Park Rapids, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Lloyd and Colleen (Pringle) Auten. Loni graduated from Havelock-Plover High School in 1967, then continued her education at a business school in Newton. In 1968, she earned a diploma from the Weaver Airline Personnel School in Kansas City, Missouri. On June 19, 1971, Loni was united in marriage to Lowell Luft in Pocahontas. The couple lived near Plover. Loni worked as a bookkeeper at Dudley Equipment in Laurens, then for the Allied Propane Company in Pocahontas. She then worked as bookkeeper for their family business, Luft & Sons. In 1981, Loni, Lowell and their boys moved to their farm near Rolfe.

Loni was a member of Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic Church in Pocahontas and the Catholic Ladies Society. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, fishing, camping, playing cards and watching "Days of Our Lives." She was an excellent caretaker and loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband, Lowell of Rolfe; sons, Jeff (Kristal) Luft of Newell and Jake Luft of Humboldt and 5 grandchildren, Jordyn, Boden, Vincent, Violette and Olivia.
