Louisa F. Ripperger – age 93, of Des Moines, formerly of Bradgate, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2019, at the Taylor Hospice House in Des Moines, Iowa.

Louisa Frances Ripperger was born on February 13, 1926, in Bradgate, Iowa. She was the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Hagedorn) Ripperger. Louisa grew up in Bradgate with her brother, Lawrence. She graduated from Bradgate High School in 1944. She went on to Buena Vista College in Storm Lake to earn her teacher's certificate. She taught in numerous schools, including Ware, Rolfe, Bradgate, Fort Dodge and Spirit Lake. She retired after 40 years of teaching.

She had a home on West Okoboji until she retired. She moved to Boone, Iowa, where she had a home built and enjoyed working on the yard with her little dog, Tai Chan. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She had a lot of research (genealogy) on both sides of her family. She also enjoyed volunteering with Habitat for Humanity.

Louisa is survived by her god-daughter, Kathy Martinsen of Des Moines and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; Mary and Joe Ripperger and her brother, Lawrence.
