M. Colleen Murman, age 89, of Palmer, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at the Marian Home in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

Mary Colleen Harrold was born May 15, 1933, near Palmer, Iowa. She was the daughter of Frank and Catherine (O'Brien) Harrold. Colleen graduated from Palmer High School in 1951 and went on to attend A.I.B. in Des Moines. On December 28, 1954, Colleen was united in marriage to Herman Murman at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Palmer, Iowa. The couple settled in Palmer where they operated the New Palmer Café for six years. Colleen then worked as Head Cook at the Palmer Community School for many years, retiring in the mid-1980's. Herman passed away in 2007 and Colleen continued to make her home in Palmer.

Colleen was a member of the Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic Church, Catholic Ladies Society and Palmer American Legion Auxiliary. She served as Secretary-Treasurer of the Palmer Gun Club for many years and she enjoyed the many friends she made. Colleen and Herman enjoyed the many winters when they traveled to Arizona to spend time with Cathy and her family.

Survivors include her daughter, Catherine Ann Murman of Glendale, AZ; granddaughter, Christina Murman Luethy of Glendale, AZ and many nieces and nephews.

Colleen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herman; brothers, Donald, Wilbur, Eugene, Virgil, Robert and Leo Harrold and son-in-law, David Luethy.
