Marilyn A. Dayton – age 83, of Pocahontas, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at the Pocahontas Manor Care Center in Pocahontas, Iowa.

Marilyn Ann George was born on August 5, 1938, in Pomeroy, Iowa. She was the daughter of Arthur and Myrtle (Cassen) George. She graduated from Pomeroy High School. Marilyn served in the United States Air Force from August 27, 1956 to May 15, 1959. While in the service she met her husband, Kenneth. They were united in marriage on May 15, 1959, in Tacoma Washington. They briefly lived in New York before settling in Pocahontas, where Marilyn worked at Flynn's Supermarket and the Fashion Touch. Marilyn moved to the Pocahontas Manor with her husband in October of 2017 after suffering a stroke.

Marilyn was a member of the St. Peter Lutheran Church. She loved playing bingo, watching wheel of fortune, watching her "cubbies" and especially spending time with her family and helping her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth of Pocahontas; children, Jeffrey (Dona Kunz) Dayton of Livermore and Kendra (Chad) Walker of Pocahontas; 8 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; son, Paul; siblings, Yvonne Holmes, Dick George, Duane George, Kenny George, Gordon George, Carolyn Vial, Katie Birkey and a nephew, David Birkey.
