Marilyn A. Jackson, age 88, of Laurens, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025, at the Laurens Care Center in Laurens, Iowa.

Marilyn Ann Pritchard was born on August 28, 1936, in Iowa City, Iowa. She was the daughter of Alvin and Mary Ida (McCaulley) Pritchard. As a child, Marilyn and her family moved several times, from Iowa to Oklahoma. She attended grade school in Sac City, then attended high school in Ayrshire and Marathon. On March 27, 1954, Marilyn was united in marriage to Merle Jackson in Marathon. The couple made their home in Webb and Rembrandt until 1957, when they moved to Laurens. Marilyn was a homemaker and a custodian.

Marilyn was a member of the Laurens United Methodist Church and the American Legionnaires. She enjoyed sewing, fishing, going for rides, reading mysteries, and seeing family. She especially loved being a mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her son, Steve Jackson of Laurens; grandchildren, Jon Jackson of Spirit Lake and Amanda Jackson of Emmetsburg; great-grandchildren, Charles, Brooklyn, Alyssa, Hadley and Adriana, Brett and Reanen; great-great grandchild, Reilly, and sister, Sandra Schossow of Webster City.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Merle; daughter, Kathy Meister; brothers, Alvin Jr., Donald, Johnny, Larry, Ralph and Charles, and sisters, Dorothy and Lola Jean.
