Marion D. Anderson, age 92, of Pocahontas, formerly of Pomeroy, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2023, at the Pocahontas Community Hospital in Pocahontas, Iowa.

Marion Dorothy Siefken was born December 20, 1930 on a farm near Palmer, Iowa. She was the daughter of Diedrich and Tracy (Ennen) Siefken. Marion graduated from Manson High School in 1949. On June 5, 1949, Marion was united in marriage to Donald C. Anderson at First Lutheran Church in Gilmore City, Iowa. The couple lived on a farm near Palmer for a short time where Marion was a homemaker. In the late 1950s, they moved into Pomeroy, then to the farm north of town in 1973. While at the farm, Marion began work as a CNA and CMA at the Pocahontas Manor Care Center, where she worked for over 30 years. In 2011, Donald passed away and Marion continued to make her home on the farm. In 2019, she moved to Pocahontas.

Marion was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, where she was active in the church ladies group. She enjoyed bible study, crocheting, sewing, cooking, baking, reading, gardening, family vacations, and collecting rocking horses and angels. She loved playtime with her grandchildren and was a big Iowa Hawkeye and Chicago Cubs fan. Marion especially loved the time she spent with her family.

Survivors include her sons; Don (Lelaine) Anderson of Humboldt, Wayne Anderson of Palmer, Darryl Anderson of Livermore, and Kyle (Jessica) Anderson of Pocahontas; daughters, Cindy (Jeff) Jensen of Arnolds Park, Vicki (Tom) Ricklefs of Pocahontas, and Teresa (Dale) Francis of New Prague, MN; 22 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; 2 great-grandchildren due in July; sisters, Eleanor Hartley of Palmer, Laura (John) Schauer of Carroll, and Carole Welty of Omaha, and sister-in-law, Pauline Siefken of Gilmore City.

Marion was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; brothers, Eugene and Kenneth Siefken, and infant granddaughter, Hope Francis.
