Mark A. Gerrard – age 63, of Pocahontas, passed away on Friday, March 26, 2021, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

Mark A. Gerrard – age 63, of Pocahontas, passed away on Friday, March 26, 2021, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

Mark Anthony Gerrard was born December 23, 1957, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was the son of Mae Ellen Gerrard and step-father, Butch Hauge. He graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1976. Mark then began working at Buske Manufacturing in Pocahontas as a welder. On March 16, 1979, Mark was united in marriage to Louise Zeman at the Methodist Church in Fort Dodge, Iowa. The couple settled in Pocahontas. Mark continued his education in the drafting field. After 10 years at Buske Manufacturing, Mark went to work at Fisher Hydraulics in Laurens, working in the engineering department until 2016. Mark was in poor health for several years after retiring.

Mark was a car enthusiast. He loved street rods and in younger years had a 23 T Roadster, 57 truck and 37 Coupe DeVille. His pride and joy was his 1968 Corvette convertible. He enjoyed taking it to car shows, never missing Poky's. You could find him at auctions, looking for projects to work on. He loved tinkering in his shop, spending time with his family, especially his grandson, Casian. Mark was a kind, caring man with a contagious giggle and big heart.

Survivors include his wife, Louise of Pocahontas; daughter, Melissa (Cosmin) Budea of Muscatine; a grandson, Casian Anthony and many nephews, nieces and cousins. Mark was preceded in death by his parents.
