Marlene Joann Nomann was born to Otto and Ann (Nehman) Siefken on Feb 10, 1934 in Palmer, Iowa. She graduated from Palmer High School in 1951, then going on to receive a teaching certificate from Iowa State Teacher college in 1953. After graduation she taught first grade at Humbolt Taft elementary school. Kenneth and Marlene were married at St Paul Lutheran church December 10, 1953, and resided on the Nomann family farm for 56 years. In 2010 she moved off the farm and into her current home in Pocahontas.

Marlene faithfully helped with raising five children and assisting her husband Ken with all the demands and needs of farm life until his retirement in 2000. She instilled by example how to work hard, be faithful and follow through on your commitments. From 1984 until 2021, she spent the winter months in Arizona where she developed many long-time friendships and created many memories throughout the years. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and playing Cribbage. As a faithful member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, she regularly attended services, helped with various needs of the church and consistently attended Bible study. During these last years she enjoyed playing solitaire on her computer, putting together puzzles, going out on Friday nights with the ladies group and playing cards. She'll be greatly missed by her friends and especially her family. We are grateful for the many years we have had to enjoy her.

She is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth, son Ricky Nomann, grandson R.J Richard Jergens. She is survived by 4 children: Rhonda (Chris) Humphrey of Mount Dora, FL. Renae (Tim) Dunphy of Iowa falls, IA. Randall Nomann of Cave Junction, OR. Ruth Griffin of Pocahontas IA. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, Marlene's family requests that memorials be made to her family for future designation.
