Martha "Martie" Nedved, age 82, of Pocahontas, passed away on Monday, December 8, 2025, at her home in Pocahontas, Iowa.

Martha Louise Eggers was born on October 26, 1943, in Spencer, Iowa. She was the daughter of Maris and Louise (Campbell) Eggers. Martie graduated from Sequoia High School in Redwood City, California and went on to attend San Jose State. She worked for Northwest Bell. In 1985, Martie was united in marriage to John Nedved at the United Methodist Church in Pocahontas. The couple made their home in Pocahontas where Martie worked at the Pocahontas Title Company.

Martie was a member of Hope Church, the Community Chorus and the Women's Club. In Pocahontas she served on the Library Board, Rialto Theatre Board and Zoning Board. She dearly loved all of her grandchildren and enjoyed quilting, the San Francisco 49er's, golfing and the beaches of Florida.

Martie is survived by her husband, John of Pocahontas; children, Amy (Jake) Schechinger of Harlan, Michele (Brad) Nelson of Kansas City, MO, Tonya Arnold and Tina Lewis both of Milledgeville, GA and Tara (John) McClung of Macon, GA; 13 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and brother, John Eggers of California. Martha was preceded in death by her parents.
