Mary Caldwell, age 64, of Lake City, IA, passed away at her residence at Opportunity Living on Saturday, November 1, 2025. Mary Caldwell was born on August 21, 1961, to George E. and Alma E. Caldwell, joining her sister Patricia Ann and her brother Edward Daniel.

She enjoyed spending time with family and her many friends at Opportunity Living and loved going on outings with her housemates. Mary was one of the first residents who were admitted to Opportunity Living in 1989 when it opened, and she had many happy years there. There were also many staff members whom she grew to love.

Mary was an animal lover, especially loving cats. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her sister, Patricia (Lee) Van Meter of Lake City, IA, brother, Edward (Betty) Caldwell of Marshall, MN, and nieces, Tracy, Laurie, Amanda, Danica, and Jocelyn, and many extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Alma Caldwell.
