Mary Ann Wright – age 87, of Laurens, passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at the Laurens Care Center in Laurens, Iowa.

Mary Ann Brennan was born April 10, 1934, in Ayrshire, Iowa. She was the daughter of James "Jay" and Mildred (Jones) Brennan. Mary Ann attended Sacred Heart Catholic School in Ayrshire, then St. Mary's Catholic School in Mallard and went on to graduate from Mallard High School in 1951. She worked as a secretary for Gilchrist Law Firm in Laurens for several years. On September 6, 1954, Mary Ann was united in marriage to Lowell Wright in Blue Earth, Minnesota. The couple settled in Laurens. Mary Ann was a stay at home mom for several years and then in the mid 1960s began working as an administrative assistant at Iowa Industrial Hydraulics near Pocahontas. She retired in 1997 after 27 years at IIH. Lowell passed away in 1993 and Mary Ann continued to make her home in Laurens.

Mary Ann was a member of the United Methodist Church, UMW and was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She loved golfing and riding her bicycle. Mary Ann was an avid follower of her kids' activities and served as a Den Mother and Girl Scout Leader.

Survivors include her children, Steven (MaCristina) Wright of San Antonio, TX, Lowell Jr. (Elizabeth) Wright of Lawrenceville, GA and Elaine (Tom) Byrnes of Longmont, CO; son-in-law, Craig Coldren of Royse City, TX; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a sister, Carol O'Brien of Mountlake Terrace, WA.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lowell; daughter, Marilyn Coldren; brother, Joseph "Vic" Brennan and sister, Jean Hagenbucher.
