A CELEBRATION OF LIFE WILL BE HELD FROM 2 - 6 P.M., SATURDAY, AUGUST 27, 2022, AT ELIZABETH AND JERRY EHNS RESIDENCE AT 305 N.W. 7TH STREET IN POCAHONTAS.

Matthew G. Miller – age 58, of Pocahontas, passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.

Matthew Gene Miller was born February 16, 1964, in Storm Lake, Iowa. He was the son of Eugene and LaVina (Seals) Miller. Matt graduated from Laurens-Marathon High School in 1982. He later attended Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge and then worked there in the computer lab. In the late 1990's Matt moved to Washington State where he met Shelley Taylor. The couple were united in marriage in April of 2000. They lived in Washington State where Matt did computer work and also worked as a security guard. Shelly passed away in 2010. In 2012, Matt returned to Iowa where he did on-line freelance writing. He was forced to retire due to health battles with leukemia and bladder cancer.

Matt embraced technology and enjoyed working on computers. He also loved reading.

Left to cherish his memory include his stepdaughter, Kayla Taylor (Jason Smith); grandsons, Jason, Jedidiah and Jacob Smith; sisters, Jean (Don) Hyslop, Elizabeth (Jerry) Ehn, Julie Tibke and Carrie (Scott) McKain; ex-wife and friend Nancy Neuroth Miller and many nieces & nephews.

Matt was preceded in death by Jaxson (his dog); Matt's parents, Eugene & LaVina; a niece, Angela Underwood and an infant sister.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to be sent to Matt's family to defray funeral expenses.
