Maxine "Mickey" Green Goins, age 97 of Lake City, IA, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at Accura HealthCare of Lake City.   Maxine Delores was born on July 10, 1926, to parents Lloyd and Ruth (Eveleth) Green in Des Moines, IA.  She grew up in Lake City where she attended grade school and graduated from Lake City High School with the class of 1945.

On April 7, 1947, Mickey was united in marriage to Duane M. Goins in Lake City.  This union was blessed with two children: Stephen and Jane.  Mickey owned and operated Goins Garden Center for several years.  She enjoyed quilting, flowers, antiques, and horses.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Stephen (Karen) Goins of Yetter, IA, and Jane (Nick) Johnson of Yetter, IA; grandchildren: Brent ( Brianne) Goins of Carroll, IA, Scott (Jadi) Goins of Dubuque, IA, Alisha Batz of Lake City, IA, Leon (Brooke) Johnson of Ankeny, IA, and Bethany (Steve) Stauter of Lake City, IA; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; siblings: Marjorie Hargis of MO, sister-in-law MaryAnn Savage of Lake City, IA, and brother-in-law Craig Voorde of Twin Lakes, IA; several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Mickey was preceded in death by her husband Duane; parents; and six siblings: Robert, Donald, John, Boyd, Virginia, and Betty.
