Melony Shader, age 69 of Lake City, IA formerly of Waterloo, IA, passed away unexpectedly on January 28, 2025, at her home in Lake City, IA. Melony Sue Shader was born on December 6, 1955, to parents Paul and Darlleen (Fairbanks) Shader in Waterloo, IA. She grew up in Waterloo, IA, where she attended grade school and high school.

In 1980, Melony was united in marriage to Harry Walbaum in Waterloo, IA, they later divorced. She was blessed with two children: Shannon and Derick.

Melony was a proud mother and hard worker.  She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandkids and her dog. Watching football and looking forward to holidays and family get-togethers were among her favorite things.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children Shannon Norris of Spokane, WA, and Derick Walbaum of Lake City, IA, grandchildren: Donavin, Levi, Dylin, Caleb, Cassidy, Breanna, and Johnathan; nine great-grandchildren; and Siblings: Carmen (Kevin) MacDonald, Mary (Don) George, Terry (Sue) Shader, Tony (Kelly) Shader, and Christine Tyler, and many nieces and nephews.

Melony was preceded in death by her parents, sister Cyndee Bernard, and brothers Kent Shader, and Paul Shader, brother-in-law Richard Tyler, and her significant other Timothy Morrissey.
